Created in 2007, the Military Installation Development Authority is a State of Utah entity to work closely with the military, private enterprises, and local governments to promote economic development and military initiatives. In the course of its 15 year history, MIDA and its partners have developed, and continue to develop, the Falcon Hill Aerospace Research Park at Hill Air Force Base and the Military Recreation Area in Wasatch County, Utah. These are currently the largest economic development projects in Utah.
At its August 22, 2024 meeting, the MIDA Board approved amendments to several project areas, including the Mountain Veterans Program, Utah National Guard, and Military Recreation Facility project areas. These updates reflect strategic adjustments aimed at enhancing military support, infrastructure development, and economic growth across Utah.
