Utah National Guard Project Area

Enhancing Operational Capacity and Driving Economic Development Across Utah

The Utah National Guard (UTNG) Project Area focuses on enhancing the operational capacity of the UTNG across 27 properties statewide, including Camp Williams, armories, and key sites. Planned upgrades include a potential new entry control point at Camp Williams to address safety and traffic concerns and new aviation infrastructure in Cedar City to boost emergency response and wildfire suppression in southern Utah. The project is also intended to build a state-of-the-art athletic and physical training facility at Camp Williams for shared use by soldiers, other service branches, and the local community. By leveraging underutilized land for development, the initiative supports the National Guard’s mission while fostering economic growth in rural and underserved areas, reflecting MIDA’s commitment to national security and local development.
